grief & loss

If you have experienced loss in any form, then you know there are no words. No words to change what happened. No words to lessen the shock and pain. No words to make the situation better. And no words to justify or rationalize the loss or the feelings that come. My own relationship with grief and loss has shaped my philosophy of doing grief work in therapy. Everything you are feeling is valid because there is no right way to be feeling. Loss is a part of life from the loss of our health to the physical loss of loved ones, I view grief as a natural process that is in no way “a problem” to be “cured”. Instead, I conceptualize grief work as the process of coming to terms with and integrating the loss into our lives. I work with you to increase your ability to be with your grief as a way of finding balance between sitting with it and allowing it to move through you while finding meaning and continuing to live your everyday life.
